"Il est difficle de vaincre ses passions, et impossible de les satisfaire": It is difficult to master your passions and impossible to satisfy them. - De La Sabliére.

I must be in the mood for French culture! And having mentioned Yann Tiersen (French composer/musician) in the previous post, I do believe it be more than necessary to dedicate a post entirely to him. He is known internationally for composing the score to the Jean-Pierre Jeunet movie Amélie. If you do decide to look him up, you will find that his work usually reflects styles of European classical music or something like French folk music. What I find irresistible, besides his sexiness haha, is his genius combinations of various instruments - primarily the piano, accordion or violin together with instruments like the melodica, xylophone, toy piano, ondes martenot, harpsichord and typewriter! So that you can see the genius at work - here you go- (I love the banjo!!!)
